Sergio Aguero: the unknown story of his relationship with Diego Maradona's daughter

Lots of people know Sergio Aguero is one of the best strikers in the world. The Argentinean 32-year-old, he is about to complete a whole decade playing for Manchester City in the English Premier League and having become one of the best players ever in club’s history. In fact, he is their top scorer ever. But there is an unknown story that links him with Diego Maradona.

Diego Maradona was married with Claudia Villafañe, friendly called ‘La Claudia’ (‘The Claudia’) by most fans in Argentina. At the end of the 1980s, when he was playing in Napoli at his best, they gave birth to their two daughters: Dalma in April 1987 and Giannina Maradona in May 1989. The younger one would later get involved with Sergio Agüero.

They started going out in 2008, after Agüero won the gold medal in the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing. The Argentinian striker was playing alongside Lionel Messi, Javier Mascherano and Juan Román Riquelme among others. Diego Maradona attended to the tournament and stayed very close supporting the soccer team, as well as the basketball and hockey sides, and many other athletes from his country.

The year after they started going out, Sergio Agüero and Giannina Maradona gave birth to Benjamin Agüero Maradona, who is now on his way to turn 12 years old. In just a few years he could already be playing in the Premier League or in La Liga. The boy is sentenced to pressure after being son of Sergio Agüero and grandson of Diego Maradona.
