Things are going from bad to worse for Barcelona after the club recorded two casualties in the 1-1 draw against Deportivo Alaves in the first match after the departure of Ronald Koeman. Gerard Pique was injured but the bigger one was the health emergency of Sergio Aguero.

Aguero was substituted in the first half holding his chest after complaining to manager Sergi Bajuan of feeling dizzy, he was immediately transferred in an ambulance away from Camp Nou to an hospital where he was diagnosed of a heart condition; cardiac arrhythmia, or a heart rate rhythm disorder.

He will undergo further tests to ascertain the extent of his condition, and his return date if he would ever play again. Heart conditions are serious health emergencies that can't be risked in football as it has led to retirement and untimely death of many footballers. Most recently, it has put the career of Christian Eriksen on hold after a cardiac arrest in the Euro 2020.

Aguero joined Barcelona in June after 10 years at Manchester City but his debut only came in the El Clasico after he suffered a calf injury in training that kept him out of action for 10 weeks, should it be that he may not play football again, it would be a big blow for Barcelona.
