Germany midfielder Leon Goretzka is demanding a salary worth around $26m per year to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich but the club are reluctant to pay him that much, according to German newspaper, Sport Bild.
He is in the final year of his contract and the discussions to get him to sign a new contract has not progressed much as the club are unwilling to give him more than $14.3m per year which he's not willing to accept.
The 26year old who joine Bayern Munich in 2018 from fellow German club Schalke 04 will be free to discuss with other clubs in January 2022 if he does not sign a new contract and has been receiving offers.
Among the club's reported to be interested in signing him for free next season are Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are closely monitoring Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to a report in Germany.
He is an important player in Bayern's midfield and new boss Julian Nagelsmann is interested in keeping him. He played three games for Germany at Euro 2020 and scored one goal.
