English club Manchester United announced the signing of talented English winger Jadon Sancho from German club Borussia Dortmund on a five years contract with an option of another year, ending weeks of wait for the club fans after the deal was agreed weeks ago.

Sancho was close to joining the club last year and had already agreed personal terms with Manchester United but the club could not agree to an asking price of £95m demanded by Dortmund and waited a year to sign him for £73m.

Sancho, was a former academy player of United's city rivals Manchester City but left for Germany in 2017 where he excelled as a player, said he always knew he will return to England one day; "I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first team football, although I always knew that I would return to England one day."

"The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just can't wait to perform in the Premier League. This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve. I am looking forward to working with the Manager and his coaching team to further develop my game." he said to the club after unveiling.

He is expected to provide an immediate answer to the right wing problem that has plagued United's frontline under head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He could also play on the left wing due to his versatility.
