Many football fans believe Kylian Mbappe is on his way to Real Madrid with arrival during summer 2022 imminent. The 22-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward has refused to sign an extension on his current deal that expires in June 2022. Thus, paving the way to join the La Liga side on a free transfer in June. Real Madrid reportedly put in two offers for the World Cup winner this past summer, with the last offer worth £160m.

Kylian Mbappe wants to join Real Madrid

Will Kylian Mbappe join Real Madrid and can be break Cristiano Ronaldo's records?

On his part, Kylian Mbappe is keen to join the Madrid-based club. Most of all, due to his admiration and confessed love for the club and also because his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo is a legend of the club, having played at the Santiago Bernabeu for 9 successful years. Ronaldo's time at Madrid was greatly punctuated with tons of goals, countless records and several trophies, including 4 UEFA Champions League titles.

If Kylian Mbappe joins the Los Blancos, he'll always be seen as a Ronaldo-wannabe or at best remain in the shadow of the 5-time Ballon d'Or winner. To avoid this, the French forward must set about meeting and shattering many of the records that Cristiano Ronaldo set while at the club. This will be no mean feat but time (at just 22/23 years old) and ability are on Mbappe's side and he'll fancy going up against some of Cristiano Ronaldo's records at Madrid.
