Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho are two of the modern-day legends at FC Barcelona. Both of them have won everything on parade in World football and at Barcelona. They both defined an era at Camp Nou and are forever loved by the fans. We'll look at the stats and trophies between both players to determine who is more successful.

Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, or commonly called Ronaldinho, moved to Barcelona from PSG in 2003 in a €30m deal. He won 2 La Liga titles and 1 UEFA Champions League. He also won 2 FIFA World Player of the Year and 1 Ballon d'Or during his time at Camp Nou. After scoring two great goals in the first leg of the 2005-06 El Classico, he became the second Barcelona player to be given a standing ovation at the Santiago Bernabeu. In total, Ronaldinho scored 94 goals in 207 matches for Barcelona between the 2003-04 and 2007-08 seasons he spent at Barcelona. Ronaldinho provided the assist for Messi's first goal as a Barcelona player and when he was leaving he said he regrets not playing for longer with the Argentine.

Lionel Messi made his first appearance for the Barcelona senior team in the 2004-05 season after coming through the ranks at the La Masia. He is undoubtedly Barcelona's most successful player and has only ever scored for 1 Club. He has so far scored 672 goals and assisted 226 times for the Spanish club in 810 games so far. So far, he has won 10 La Liga titles, 8 Spanish Super Cups, 6 Copa del Rey, 4 UEFA Champions League titles, 3 FIFA Club World Cup and 3 UEFA Super Cups. He has also won 6 Ballon d'Or titles, 6 European Golden Shoes, 3 UEFA Player of the Year amongst other individual awards in a highly-decorated career.

Going by the stats and trophies, Lionel Messi overwhelmingly trumps Ronaldinho. However, many believe that Ronaldinho's partying lifestyle and lack of discipline significantly cut short his stay at the highest level of football. Indeed, Messi's consistency and discipline have been a huge part of his continued stay at the top of World football.
