Diego Armando Maradona and Ronaldinho had a great relationship. The two soccer stars met many times and formed a good connection, as Dinho was a great friend both of Lionel Messi and of Maradona. After so many years, Diego asked a last desire to Ronaldinho, that the Brazilian couldn’t accomplish.

Everything occurred just a couple of months before Maradona died. The Argentinian legend was the head coach of Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata and tried to sign the historical no. 10 for his team. He knew that it wasn’t an easy mission, but tried to convince him anyway by making a phone call to him.

Despite his intentions, Ronaldinho was far away from playing professionally once again and living in Argentina was not at his plans. After all, he had to reject the petition of his great friend, something that he regretted a couple of months later when Maradona died, and he couldn’t fulfill his last wish.

Ronaldinho retired on January 2018, even though he didn’t play since 2015 until then. Maradona thought that maybe the Brazilian could play just some matches and make a revolution at Argentina. But that didn’t happen and on November 25 the idol died at the age of 60 in Buenos Aires.
