International athletes are always looking for the way to gain money, aside from the millionaire contracts they sign with the clubs and franchises that hire them to play. There are three that played during the last decades and that are a clear example of how an international brand can be made with the name of an athlete and bill fortunes.

The first case is the one of Ronaldinho, the Brazilian star who marked the 2000s and played in Europe for FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan. Dinho created in a collaboration with Nike his international brand R10 when he was a player, that had a very extensive range of products linked to soccer and sports.

Another case, probably the most emblematic and famous one, is the one of Michael Jordan. Air Jordan is nowadays an international brand that makes millions per year and works with Nike as well. According to Forbes, MJ was paid more than $300 million since they signed their first contract with the American brand in 1984.

Cristiano Ronaldo is another case on the list. Differently from the other two legends, CR7 has preferred to make his own brand, with no collaboration with a bigger one. He launched recently clothes, his underwear line and even perfumes. Lionel Messi did something similar with his own brand to.
