Ronald Koeman talked about Lionel Messi bad performances this season
The Netherlands coach revealed to the press his thoughts after two games with no scores neither assists from the Argentine.
Lionel Messi is always at the center of the stage at FC Barcelona and even more when his team looses. Barça lost against Getafe on October 17 in their fourth game in La Liga and the Argentinian had no incidence in the match. Same happened before the international break, when Barcelona tied against Sevilla and the attacker didn't score or assist.
After this bad performance, head coach Ronald Koeman was asked about Messi's level and considered that it is not a problem for him. The Netherlands said that he may not be at his best level but that he is happy and working hard with the teams, so results will come soon for him.
Messi scored and assists against Villarreal on the win of his team at the start of the season and gave another assists on the next game against Celta de Vigo. When playing with his national team he also did it well, as he scored against Ecuador in the first game of his team in their start at the World Cup Qualifiers.
Barcelona will now need Messi more than ever, as they will be facing a very hard streak. On Tuesday, they will have their Champions League debut against Ferencvaros and after that they will play against Real Madrid (October 24) and Juventus (October 28).
