Manchester United signed Raphaël Varane from Real Madrid close to the end of the summer transfer window for £34m. The experienced defender who has won everything there is to win with Real Madrid in La Liga moved on in search of a new adventure and chose the Premier League for his next challenge.

The Premier League is believed to be the toughest league in the world, testaments of players abroad who have failed in the league or are either successful and took time to adapt to the league backs up the claim. Varane played 10 top seasons in Spain and after a few games in the Premier League confessed the difference.

Speaking in an interview with DAZN Espanol, he said: "It's very different. I think it's faster, I think you'll have more duels and the intensity is very high. You have to be ready in every game. It is very intense and the pressure is important and I think it's different football and the pace on the pitch is different and you will repeat a lot of runs and efforts. It is different, so you have to be ready.
