Premier League stars to play for Jamaica to qualify for Qatar 2022

The 1998 World Cup in France was Jamaica's last participation in this competition. On that occasion, he shared the group with Croatia (defeat 2-1 in the debut), Argentina (lost 5-0) and said goodbye with a victory against Japan (2-1). Since then, she has never managed to qualify for the World Cup again. And with the appointment of Qatar getting closer and closer to being held, the Central American country has in mind to carry out a bold plan to say present.

What do they analyze to do? As Jaimaica's a British colony, many of the Premier League stars were born there or are children of Jamaicans. For example, Raheem Sterling, Manchester City striker, was born in Kingston, the capital of the American country, but represents England. So, based on new FIFA regulations that children can be nationalized, Jamaica will try to convince Premier League stars to represent them.

Faced with some rumors about the future of the Jamaican national team, the president of the Federation, Michael Ricketts expressed his wish on national television and even gave himself the luxury of giving some names with chances to wear the shirt of his country:"The list's full of talented footballers like Michail Antonio, Max Aarons, Andre Gray, Demarai Gray, Mason Holgate, Isaac Hayden. The latter personally called the Jamaica Football Federation to apply for the selection of our country. Then Liam Moore already has in his possession the Jamaican passport, Nathan Redmond, Kemar Roofe and Ivan Toney. All these names are in the process of obtaining their passport”.

These footballers, who mostly play in the Premier League, have British nationality as their original, but thanks to the new FIFA rule, their Jamaican roots make them part of this dream. There're certain exceptions that allow those footballers who played a match for one team to do so in another.

With this panorama, the selected ones from Mexico and the United States are on alert since they would add a very tough rival in the Qualifiers towards the World Cup in Qatar, to be played next year.
