PSG: Kylian Mbappe made public his demands to reject Real Madrid and stay
The striker's contract will expire in 2022, and Leonardo will try everything to make Mbappe stay at PSG. Kylian has told bluntly what he wants to extend the bond.
Kylian Mbappe is one of the best players in the world, being arguably in a current Top 5. And of course, he is a key player for Paris Saint-Germain. His ability to find the net so easily made him one of the most wanted players, and Real Madrid has been behind him for a while.
And actually, he might change teams because his contract will expire at the end of next season, in June 2022. There are negotiations to extend it, with Leonardo, PSG sports director, trying to convince him to sign. But the talks are not going well. Mbappe has his demands and hopes the club to promise him that they will be met.
The World Cup champion in 2018 not only wants a salary rise from 17.5 to 23 million euro per year, but he also wants PSG to have a competitive team that fights for UEFA Champions League every single season. Of course, that is what everybody at the club wants, but will not be easy to confirm.
Last season, the Paris team reached the final of that tournament, losing to Bayern Munich and with a bad performance from Mbappe. He wants a revenge and that is why he is asking for this at PSG and is not directly rejecting the offers without listening. It is a matter of being competitive rather than money. He wants to be a Champions League winner.
