One year after his passing, what did Kobe Bryant think about Lionel Messi
Today is the first anniversary of Kobe Bryant's death, a day that hurt the whole world of sports. Here, his relationship with the soccer GOAT.
January 26th 2020 was a very sad day for sports. A helicopter accident took the life of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna in Calabasas, California. The whole world got shocked at such bad news and the basketball and Los Angeles Lakers legend is still mourned, one year after that.
It was remembered the time he met Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho predicted that the Argentinian was going to be the best player of all times in 2004, when Messi had just turned 17 years old and had not made his debut with FC Barcelona first team. But he just knew it at watching him.
Kobe was a friend of Ronaldinho and he introduced him to Messi. The NBA legend told the Brazilian that he thought he was the best, but Dinho replied that 'that kid' was on his way to become the best ever. And he was right. Bryant, a big fan of soccer, described Messi as 'one of the greatest athletes of all time'.
Both legends had a lot of respect for each other When Kobe died, Messi posted on Instagram that a genius had left them, and said to be thankful for having met him and shared good moments together. And all started at the beginning of his career, with Ronaldinho introducing each other.
