FC Barcelona is popular for its academy which is one of the most popular academies in the world. The famed La Masia has produced some of the greatest football stars the world has seen including Andres Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas amongst others. The club believes so much in their academy product hence many have come through to the first team.

Riqui Puig was given first team opportunities by former manager Quique Setien but has been limited to cameo appearances by Ronald Koeman since he took charge of the club last August. When he first arrived, he told the youngster to find a new club but he was adamant and insisted on staying.

Riqui Puig is still yet to convince Ronald Koeman and what he decided against at the initial stages could well be the end of the means for the young midfielder. Three La Liga clubs are interested in taking him on an initial loan and could negotiate other deals later. The club's are Real Sociedad, Getafe and Celta Vigo.

Puig however is reported not to be interested in a move away from the club as he believes Ronald Koeman will soon be sacked and hopefully a new coach will offer him a lifeline and a chance to kick-start his career again at the club. The cheerful youngster is without any doubt very talented.
