Oliver Gioroud's name has caused a stir again. After his spectacular goal against Atlético de Madrid, the Chelsea FC striker has become one of the figures in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. At 34 years old, the Frenchman is still in force in the elite of world football thanks to the impeccable physique he maintains, the product of a strict diet and constant physical conditioning, where he is not licensed for anything.

When it comes to meals, he is very careful. Avoid all processed foods, sugar, and unhealthy oils. He is always aware of the ingredients with which his meals are prepared. For his breakfasts he always includes egg whites, ham omelets, or toast with scrambled eggs. During lunch he cannot miss salads with salmon, beans and baked potatoes. Finally, at dinner always opt for a chicken or tuna fillet with vegetables. His favorite snacks are banana sandwiches, energy bars, and dried fruits like walnuts and almonds. If he wants to 'sin', he do it with a steak accompanied by steamed salads.

But not everything is having a good diet. Outside of the physical work he does in training with Chelsea, Giroud has a work plan for each day of the week, which he does in his spare time. He only rests on Wednesdays. And without a doubt, his remarkable effort is paying off. It is not easy to stay active for so long among the great teams in Europe, and so much so, that with his goal against Atlético Madrid, he became the longest-serving player to score a goal in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

In fact, the same Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, clarified that he is going through one of his best moments as an athlete. It is that the world champion, Olivier Giroud, is an example for countless footballers, who ruin their careers, or do not fully exploit their potential, due to wrong decisions or misconduct.

Giroud's career numbers

Forward by nature, and scorer per excellence, Olivier Giroud is a guarantee of a goal for his own team, and a fearsome threat for others. In his career, he played a total of 546 games, and scored 213 goals, which averages close to one goal every two games. In addition, he scored with 40 assists, and won 7 titles, with the 2018 Russian world championship being the most important, with his native France.
