The coach of the Brazilian Olympic soccer team, André Jardine, said he plans to summon star Neymar, currently at Paris Saint-Germain in France, for the Tokyo 2020 Games. "Without a doubt, Neymar is part of my plans since we started from the beginning of forming, for Tokyo, a team as strong as possible", argued Jardine, as reproduced by the ANSA news agency.

The Brazilian Soccer Confederation (CBF) began talks with PSG to allow Neymar to participate in Tokyo 2020, in whose soccer tournament Brazil will share Group D with Germany (before which it will debut), Ivory Coast and Saudi Arabia.

"Neymar is the main player of the senior team, the best Brazilian footballer, and he can break the balance of any game. He is at the top of his career and would be a reinforcement of enormous quality, although I understand that it is a complex situation, in the hands of the CBF, of the PSG and of the own player", admitted Jardine.

Each team can include three players over 23 on their roster and Jardine anticipated that he plans to use one of those slots for a goalkeeper: "The senior team has four, Alisson, Santos, Ederson and Weverton. One of them will be with us", he said.

Brazil will look to Tokyo to retain the gold medal it won at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
