Barcelona issued a statement informing that it has amicably closed the various labor and civil disputes it had with Neymar. The two parties reached an agreement and thus put an end to several years of disputes and recriminations.

The lawyers of the Catalan team and the Paris Saint-Germain player had been negotiating for several months to iron out the differences. The blaugrana entity asked the Brazilian for 16,700,000 euros, while the player claimed 47,150,000 of the same from the Old Continent.

Neymar's time at Barcelona was between the 2013/14 and 2016/17 seasons: his move to the French team for the termination clause generated different interpretations based on contractual issues. From that moment on, the two parties began a judicial process.

The conflict also made it difficult for the Brazilian to return to the Spanish club, despite PSG's refusal to facilitate his return. His friendship with Lionel Messi is one of the reasons that could generate the new approach, although for the moment it seems premature.

Barcelona's statement on Neymar

Barcelona informs that it has closed out of court and amicably different labor and civil litigation that it had open with the Brazilian player Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior.

Thus, the Club and the player have signed a settlement agreement to put an end to legal proceedings that were pending between both parties: three claims in the labor jurisdiction and one civil proceeding.

Neymar was an FC Barcelona player from the 2013/14 to the 2016/17 season. He subsequently signed for Paris Saint-Germain, the team for which he still plays.
