After the departure of Neymar Jr to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for €222m, FC Barcelona made one of their worst decisions in recent times. They blew a good portion of the money to sign a player who would turn out to be one of their worst signings, spending more time on the hospital bed than on the pitch.

Barcelona hurriedly sign French winger Ousmane Dembele from German club Borussia Dortmund for €105m, though his talent and potential were obvious, his fitness and attitude were certainly one of the very worst, he hardly stays fit and when he is fit, the performances are just one off and then a dip.

He will be out of contract at the end of the season and Barcelona are willing to offer him a new contract, madness when you consider his injuries and goals record. He has scored just 30 goals for Barcelona in 118 games. 118 games in four and half years is ridiculous but what's more ridiculous is the number of days he has spent out injured.

He has spent 665 days out injured which is almost two years, about half of his years so far at the club. He has missed 86 games due to injury which represents more than half of the 118 games he has played, why would Barcelona want to offer such a new contract?
