Mohamed Salah is arguably the best player in the Premier League since his arrival in the Premier League having won the golden boot twice and the league's best player award once. He has also helped Liverpool win four titles during this time.

Salah is one of Liverpool's highest paid players on a modest wage of £200,000 per week and his contract runs out in the summer of 2023 and the club are more than willing to tie their best player down to a new long term contract which the player is willing to accept though terms are not right yet.

"If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football career. But I can't say much about that, it's not in my hands. It depends on what the club wants, not on me. At the moment I can't see myself ever playing against Liverpool. That would make me sad. It's hard, I don't want to talk about it, but it would make me really sad... but let's see what will happen in the future." Salah said of his contract situation.

The player wants to stay and retire at the club. He's currently tied as the highest scoring African in the Premier League with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba and will surpass the record if he scores against Manchester United. He's a long way off to becoming Liverpool's record goalscorer.
