Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool are faced with situations of players entering the final years of their contract at the beginning of next season which puts the continuity of the team in big risk if they fail to tie the players down to new contracts.
Liverpool have four players whose contracts expire at the end of the season; goalkeepers Adrian and Loris Karius, who surprisingly is still on Liverpool's payroll, James Milner and Belgian striker Divock Origi, they have a combined value of €18m.
The club also have five players who would be out of contract in June 2023. Liverpool's front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino as well as Guinean midfielder Naby Keita and English midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will all be out of contract in 2023. They have a combined value of €275m
Jürgen Klopp will also be out of contract in 2024 and has made it clear he doesn't plan to stay beyond that time, by which he would have spent nine years at the club. Club legend Steven Gerrard is being tipped to be Klopp's successor.
