Messi's future: Piqué pressure the Barcelona's star with a warning

Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué spoke this Friday about the situation in which Leo Messi's renewal is in. In this regard, he explained that what is missing is that he remains at Barcelona.  "We are waiting for him to sign the renewal and be able to have him with us. I hope he is convinced," explained the iconic Culé footballer during the LaLiga Champions Gala ceremony that took place in Madrid from Germany.

Lionel Messi's renewal with FC Barcelona continues to drag on as the Argentine player remains faithful to the word given to Joan Laporta, president of the azulgrana team. Gerard Piqué, one of the heavyweights in the dressing room, has expressed his desire for Messi to renew sooner rather than later.

Piqué also looked back on the previous season, about which, despite expressing happiness that the club won the Copa del Rey, he admitted that it was not the best season as they were unable to win either the Champions League or much less La Liga. "It was not the best of years, although we won the Cup. But without winning La Liga or the Champions League we don't consider it a good year.

The Barcelona player also expressed his satisfaction that the public will be allowed to return to the stadiums for next season. "It's great news that people are returning to the stadiums," he celebrated.

Messi and Pique friendship

Lionel Messi and Gerard Piqué have known each other since they were 13 years old and have a great friendship. They are both Barcelona's references because they have won everything and feel a strong sense of belonging to the club. The soccer world shook in August when Lionel Messi sent the famous burofax and asked to leave the institution with which he became one of the best players in history. 

Gerard Piqué assured that a player who for 16 years gave so much to the club... Barcelona is obliged to reach an agreement with him. It cannot be so obvious that the two parties are so far apart," he said. "Lionel had more than earned to make a decision.
