Lionel Messi made his first start for Paris Saint Germain as a player as well as the first in the UEFA Champions League and it coincides with his 150th match in the competition having played 149 games for Barcelona during his time in Spain.

Messi signed for the French capital club on August 10 after Barcelona were unable to register him with the La Liga board despite him taking a massive wage cut to remain at the club after the expiration of his contract at the end of last season.

The milestone was however ruined by Club Brugge who held PSG to a 1-1 draw, the club also lost Kylian Mbappe to an injury. The notable things to remember for Messi in the match was striking the woodwork in the first half as well as getting a yellow card in the second half.

Messi has scored 120 goals in the Champions League, only behind Ronaldo who has scored 135 goals but could not add to his goals tally in the drab draw against the Belgians.
