It’s out of discussion that soccer’s two big icons since the last decade are Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, despite the sport has seen stars like Neymar, Kylian Mbappé or Andrés Iniesta. Both the Portuguese and the Argentinian have won many times the UEFA Champions League.

The prestigious continental trophy is considered the most important soccer club’s competition in the world. As such, winning it brings lots of juicy bonus prizes to the privileged ones. As for the Portuguese, he is known to have donated a €600,000 ($726,000) bonus prize for winning the UEFA Champions League in 2016 against Real Madrid. Before he left to Juventus in 2018, the Spanish club offered a last contract extension that included a €2 million bonus for winning the trophy. That is $2.4 million.

As for Lionel Messi, his problems with Barcelona exploded after newspaper El Mundo leaked his contract with the club. He was reported to be paid €4 million for each UEFA Champions League trophy lifted since he signed the last extension in 2017.
