The deal to take Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain is nearing completion as the former Barcelona star has agreed to personal terms with the French club. Being, a free agent, a transfer fee negotiation would not be required. All that is left is for the player to undergo his medicals before the deal is confirmed. Messi has travelled to Paris today for the medical examination.

As the deal to sign the Argentine nears completion, details of his agreement had been speculated. It is rumoured that the 6-time Ballon d'Or winner has been offered up to €35m yearly at the Parc des Princes. This is approximately €673,000 weekly. This would make him only second on the list of highest earners at PSG, behind only Neymar. Messi's contract also includes an option for a one-year extension on the deal.

Messi will be ready to complete his move to the French capital club this week once he completes his medicals. This represents a swift turn of events as Barcelona only announced Argentina's departure last Thursday. He then held a press conference on Sunday where he revealed that he was in talks with PSG.

Reports state that the PSG have already booked the Eiffel Tower for the presentation of arguably the greatest ever player to play the sports. Messi left Barcelona after 21 years, becoming the club's highest goalscorer and highest appearance maker. He won 10 La Liga titles and 4 UEFA Champions League titles amongst many other senior trophies.
