The arrival of Lionel Messi at PSG has reportedly caused movement within the PSG squad with rumours that Kylian Mbappe might be on his way out of the club. The 21-year-old French International has been in the news recently for holding out on signing a new deal with his employers. His current deal expires in the summer of 2022.

The signing of Messi has momentarily shifted all of the focus off Mbappe, with the Argentine 6-time Ballon d'Or winner the talk of the press. Even though it is not expected that Messi's arrival would mean lesser playing time for Mbappe, there are concerns that the French international would no longer be the cynosure of the team both on the field and off-field.

With the latest developments, Real Madrid is rumoured to be preparing a bid for Mbappe said to be worth well over £100m. The Spanish club is now said to be capable of signing the player with the recent CVC Capital Partners Investment in La Liga. Madrid is expected to get up to £230m as their share of the investment in the league.

Mbappe has long adored playing at the Santiago Bernabeu. The French player once revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is his idol and he would like to play at the Bernabeu. Mbappe would fit into the Galactico signing style of Madrid President, Florentino Perez. Madrid perhaps also need a new spark on the field, with Eden Hazard flattering to deceive and other attacking options not showing as much promise as Mbappe.
