Which is the sport that gives the biggest amount of money to their athletes? The question may have many answers, as nowadays all sports may distribute fortunes, depending on titles gained, prizes, transfers, contracts, sponsorships and other factors. But for sure, soccer has been one of the most popular during the last decades.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were the two most emblematic players from the 2000s until these days. The Argentine legend played during all of his professional career for FC Barcelona, achieving some all-time records, while the Portuguese played for Juventus, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Sporting CP.

With no doubts, these two were the ones gaining the biggest amount of money on the soccer world lately. But what happens when we compared them with other sport athletes? The one that completely humiliates them both together is the Irish mixed martial artist and boxer Conor McGregor.

During the last 12 months, McGregor has only competed once, on a fight against Donald Cerrone, that ended after just 40 seconds and that make him gain more than $25 million. While Messi and Cristiano have to play large matches of more than 90 minutes, the Irish gained a fortune as the one the soccer players earn after just less than a minute.
