Messi, Ronaldo and Who? The players who MLS fans buy their shirts most

Football fans in the MLS are never afraid to show their support for the biggest football players and football leagues across the world. Despite the 6-7 hours difference in time zones, fans still often watch matches of their favourite clubs and show their support through fan bases and other means. One of the best ways fans show their support is through buying the shirts of their favourite stars. 

In the United States, the biggest stars are Lionel Messi and Christian Pulisic. Out of the 50 states in the U.S., Messi and Pulisic top the shirt sales table in a combined 39 of them. Lionel Messi leads the chart with 20 states whilst Chelsea attacker, Pulisic leads in 19 states. 

Coming in a distant 3rd is Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo who wins the battle in just 4 states in the U.S. Manchester United also seems to have a large following in the United States with Bruno Fernandes leading the way in North Dakota, Marcus Rashford winning in Alaska and Anthony Martial selling the most shirts in Hawaii. 

There are also some surprising entries including Dele Alli winning the battle for shirt sales in Vermont, while Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci is the most popular in South Dakota. Interestingly, none of the players currently playing in the MLS sells the most shirts in the United States.
