Barcelona fans and bored are pretty much waiting for the end of the season. Steel their biggest concern is the future of Lionel Messi. The Argentinian legend is expiring his contract by June and is very likely to leave on a free transfer. But the worst part of this is that he could just be one of many players to exit.
According to a report from Spanish newpaper El Mundo, the club could be straight going to bankruptcy. They state the club has suffered a loss of $117 million, and has to confront debts for over $1 billion. The current active balance published on Monday talks about a red margin of $729 million.

Also, $322 million must be paid to the banks by the end of June. “A further $562 million worth of debt repayments are also due in the short term, including $237 million owed to other teams for recent transfers”, said Insider.
As a result, club’s interim president Carles Tusquets has stated players didn’t receive their January payment on time. El Mundo states there could be a broken rule since clubs are told not to pay more than 70% of their income in players’s salaries. Could this be the reason for Antoine Griezmann, Lionel Messi and Gerardo Piqué to leave? It’s sure the club will have to get rid of many contracts.
