International Federation of Football History and Statistics has picked the three best goalkeepers of 2021. They are Manuel Neuer, awarded first place, Gianluigi Buffon, second, and Thibaut Courtois, third. They are among the best of their generations, without doubt. Want to know their pricing? Let’s have a look.

2014 World Cup winner Manuel Neuer was picked in first place by IFFHS in their rank. The Bayern München’s goalkeeper has an estimated value of €18 million, with a contract expiring by the end of June 2023. His salary is rumored to be $7.5 million per year. The 34-year-old extended his contract for last time in 2020.

In second place, IFFHS went for the most experienced nowadays, Italy’s Gianluigi Buffon. Considering he is turning 43 years old in this month, it’s understandable that his salary in Juventus is just €1.5 million. His market value is just €1 million, considering his career is not going on for much longer. Just like Neuer, he lifted the World Cup trophy, but in 2006.

Last, but not least, Belgium’s idol Thibaut Courtois is in third place of the ranking made by IFFHS. His transfer from Chelsea to Real Madrid put him as the most expensive goalkeeper ever, the Spanish side paid €65 million for him, as the English club signed Kepa Arrizabalaga for €80 million just one day after. His contract earns him €7.2 million per year.
