English clubs Manchester City, Chelsea and German club Bayern Munich are involved in a three horse race to secure the signature of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez who plays for Portuguese club Benfica. The club values him at €150m and have ruled out a January sale even for his release clause.

The 22 year old announced himself to the world on the bigger stage after scoring two goals in Benfica's 3-0 win over FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions. He has been on Manchester City and Bayern Munich radar, but according to reports in England, European champions Chelsea have joined the race to sign the €150m man.

Benfica will be willing to hold on to their prized asset who they signed just a year ago for a club record €24m. The fee is also a record in Spanish club Almeria's history and also the biggest transfer fee in the Spanish Segunda division. Just a year on, they are about to receive six times the money they paid for him.

Though the club are ruling out a January transfer, they are open to listen to offers from any club who could match his release clause in the summer, and Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern Munich have all lined up to try and sign the highly rated Uruguayan who is likened to Luis Suarez.
