South American football, particularly Brazilian football, is the cradle of great footballers. From O Rei Pelé to the last great appearance a decade ago by Neymar Jr (without forgetting Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo, the great jewels that Real Madrid bought a few transfer markets ago), the youth of Brazil are always seen with different eyes by the great powers of the Old Continent.

Currently, there is a new jewel that seduces Manchester City, the team that Pep Guardiola directs and that is on the way to become champion of this season of the Premier League: Kayky Chagas, a 17-year-old who shines in the lower divisions from Fluminense, is the one pointed out by the board of the English club to add it in the near future. According to the British newspaper The Sun, the intention of the Citizens would be to pay for the attacker a sum close to 21 million pounds sterling - about 25 million euros.

Known in his country as "the next Neymar" thanks to his skills in controlling the ball and his ability to define, this striker was incorporated into the first team led by Marco Aurélio de Oliveira in the 2021 Carioca Championship. He was a substitute in all the games.

The story goes that when Kayky was eight years old, he dazzled with his abilities to play indoor soccer, the modality that is played on an indoor hard court and that brings together five players per team. After joining the Samba Mangueira school, one of the most recognized in the Rio de Janeiro carnival, he was seen by the Flu scouts, who finally made up their minds and added him to the youth of the Rio de Janeiro team.

During 2020, Chagas scored 12 goals in 15 games in Fluminense's youth divisions. Guilherme Torres, the coach who led him in the youth teams, highlighted the attacker's qualities. "Kayky is a player who stands out a lot for his technical quality, especially the one-on-one game, and also for his quality in front of goal", he told Goal Brasil.

This is how Kayky Chagas plays
