After a transfer window in which the Argentine almost left FC Barcelona, the English club assured the transfer could be happening next summer.

FC Barcelona experienced a chaotic transfer window, which started when Lionel Messi publicly expressed that he wanted to leave the club after 20 years. The wish of the Argentine provoked a strategic from the president Josep María Bartomeu, who decided not to let his best player out.

After all, Messi had to stay, as he didn't accept to start a trial against his all-life club. But, despite the decision, things may change next summer. Messi's contract ends at June 2021 and it's very difficult to think that he will be signing a new one after all it happens. Manchester City, that was the principal suitor of La Pulga, advice that they are still dreaming with him.

Chief operating officer of the English club advised that City still has the financial strength to contract Messi and that if La Pulga finally leaves Barcelona next summer they can discuss the option of signing him. At Manchester, his old friend Sergio Agüero and his favorite head coach Pep Guardiola awaits for him.

Barcelona has a very uncertain future, not only because it's very probable for Messi to leave, but also because Bartomeu may be kicked soon. This transfer window, the club opened the exit door for players such as Luis Suárez, Ivan Rakitic or Arturo Vidal, who left for free.
