Luis Suarez: see why he starts on the bench against his former club

The Reds, The Champions of the competition in 2019 have started this year's campaign on a very high note with wins over AC Millan and Porto, sitting pretty at the top of the table. They will be facing their strongest opponent in the competition tonight. 

The match is much anticipated because the La Liga giant forced Liverpool out of the competition days before coronavirus shut down the competition in the spring of 2020. Coupled with the fact that Luis Suarez will be playing against his former club. 

The former Liverpool and Barcelona star will understandably start from the bench considering the fact that the match will be of high intensity and Suarez will not be able to catch up with the speed. 

The emotions and atmosphere surrounding the match is another thing Diego Simone would have considered to have started the legend on the bench, he may come up at the last quarter of the match when the intensity is not as high.
