Lionel Messi's league goal drought for Paris Saint-Germain has come to an end after he netted his first league goal in the 87th minute of the encounter against Nantes in PSG's 3-1 win.

Messi, who shockingly left Barcelona at the beginning of the season and joined PSG scored in his ninth game and after many attempts. He has had 21 shots, eight of which were on target and has hit the woodwork four times before he finally got his goal.

The goal was his fourth for the Paris club, having scored three in the UEFA Champions League. The goal against Nantes was assisted by Kylian Mbappé who has assisted all his goals for PSG including winning a penalty which Messi converted against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
