Paris Saint-Germain and Argentina national team are at loggerheads over the inclusion of Lionel Messi in the national team squad for the November international break despite being unfit and missed the last two games for PSG.

Argentina have two important matches against Uruguay and Argentina in the window in the CONMEBOL 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying series and head coach Lionel Scaloni is not willing to take any chances by leaving Messi out of the team.

PSG sporting director Leonardo express frustration at the national team and wants FIFA to take action in such situations. "We don't agree with letting a player, who isn't fit to play for us and is in recovery, join up with his national side," he told Le Parisien. It doesn't make sense and this kind of situation needs to be discussed with FIFA."

Messi is sure to play both games for Argentina which could anger the PSG board. Messi's time at PSG is proving frustrating for both club and player. He is yet to score in eight league games and missed the last two games due to knee and hamstring injuries.
