Clearly Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the two best active footballers, and maybe they are even the two best of all time. This time, The International Federation of Football History and Statistics decided who was the best player of the last decade on a specific stat.

They make a top20 list of the best play-makers of the decade. This is the main reason why FC Barcelona always argued that Messi is better than Ronaldo, his play-making ability. He has the same skills to make key passes and assists us to score and that’s made him a complete player.

On this list, Messi has 174 points and he is the first one. The second one is Andrés Iniesta with 127, then, there are Luka Modric, Kevin De Bruyne, Toni Kroos and Eden Hazard. The humiliation against Cristiano Ronaldo showed up when we see it almost at the bottom of this list.

The Portuguese is on the 12th spot on this list, behind Xavi Hernández, who retired from football a long time ago and did not play the whole decade. What does this mean? Is Lionel Messi really better than Cristiano? Hard to tell, but this mean that if they ever play as midfielders, the Argentinian would be better.
