Lionel Messi picks his Argentina teammate over PSG teammate, says Emi Martinez is the best goalkeeper in the world

Lionel Messi and Emiliano Martinez are enjoying a very good friendship since Martinez came fully into the Argentina national team squad and Lionel Messi has called him the best in the world after the two won the Copa America together in June.

The two have been important to Lionel Scaloni's new-look Argentina squad. Lionel Messi is getting the goals, Emiliano Martinez is keeping the opponents goal out. The two were rewarded as the best player and best goalkeeper of the Copa America.

Argentina beat Uruguay 3-0 in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier CONMEBOL edition. Lionel Messi scored in the match and Emi Martinez kept a clean sheet pulling off a series of good saves to make sure Lionel Messi's friend Luis Suarez did not have a goal in the match despite warning Messi they will not be friends on the pitch.

Emiliano Martinez left Arsenal at the beginning of last season after 10 years at the club, he signed for fellow Premier League club Aston Villa and has been one of the best goalkeepers in the league.
