If we must talk about the best ones in boxing and soccer, despite there are many options, choosing Floyd Mayweather would be safe choice, and deciding between Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi could be reasonable too. How can they be connected? Well, Mayweather was asked about them and chose too.

The boxing legend was giving an interview to an Argentine TV channel, and in a friendly conversation, he gave a couple of interesting thoughts on the country. He was planning his fight against country’s idol Marcos Maidana. It is not clear he had ever met anyone of them.

Argentine boxing commentator Osvaldo Principi was interviewing Mayweather and asked him: “Floyd, you have always spoken very well about our country, and lots of people in Argentina love you, what can you tell them?”. He answered: “We’ll have an interesting fight; Argentina is a country of good people and Maidana represents them very well”.

Then, he was asked: “And who is your favorite in soccer, Lionel Messi or Maradona?”, and when he asked who is the number one and heard ‘Maradona’, he said: “That’s the one I like”. Principi, an expert in soccer too, told Mayweather Maradona was a big fan of him. Then, the boxer added: “I really like the national team, but they also produce very good boxers”.
