Lionel Messi: is he suffering from psychological effects of leaving Barcelona?

One of the impossible events of football before it happened was seeing Lionel Messi in the shirt of another club in Europe. He could leave Barcelona one day but it was unimaginable seeing him elsewhere in Europe, possibly in MLS.

After weeks of speculations of his new contract agreement, Messi returned from vacation after winning the Copa America for Argentina only to be told his new contract can't be signed due to a certain La Liga policy that sells a portion of Barcelona TV rights to a league sponsor.

Within a few days of the confirmation of his departure, Messi was announced by PSG as their fifth signing of the summer, their fourth free. He was handed the jersey number 30 which was his first jersey number at Barcelona. He signed a two years contract worth $41m per season.

He has so far failed to register a goal contribution for the Paris club in five League games though he has scored three goals in the UEFA Champions League. Messi spent 21 years at Barcelona and would certainly take him time to adjust to his new reality.
