We are used to watch Lionel Messi scoring two, three or even four goals in a single match. There is no surprise on seeing FC Barcelona’s forward, making an outrageous assist or a free-kick goal in a key match. But nobody is used to see Messi get a red card like this.

What happened to him on the pitch today? If there is a play that Messi loves to do is that long pass to Jordi Alba so he can get the final shoot entering the box. This time, in the middle of that same play, he put his right arm and pushed away a defender, that costed him the red card.

In 753 matches this is the first time Lionel Messi gets a red card. He seemed to be really angry when he left the pitch and that is not how we usually see Messi even when his team lost. Does this mean anything? The fans are afraid that it does, and this could be one of the last finals that he ever plays in FC Barcelona.

This kind of fury is not usual in Lio Messi. There is a background of red cards in his career like in the first match he played in Argentina or the time that his fight with Medel on an International match. But this time is different because he was clearly angrier than ever before.
