Barcelona has beaten Athletic Bilbao last Sunday for the Spanish La Liga, but the victory was not enough to overshadow a huge scandal originated by the country's media after lots of details from Lionel Messi’s contract earnings were leaked. The winning goal scorer netted a brilliant free kick.

The big amount of money the Argentinian 33-year-old player is perceiving since his last contract extension was signed in 2017 has shocked the world. According to the leaking newspaper El Mundo, the legendary Messi has been paid over €555 million, which would equal more than $670 million in the last four seasons.

It is officially known that Lionel Messi likes to own properties like mansions or very expensive cars but besides that we have another idea for him: five worldwide famous clubs that could be bought with such a fortune. They are very wealthy teams that have won lots of important trophies.

In case that Messi wants to invest in a young club with a promising future he could buy Bundesliga’s RB Leipzig, which is valued in €552.18 million ($668 million) as per Transfermarkt. If he wants a legendary club, then Italy’s AC Milan can be his for $600.5 million. When travelling to England he could acquire Everton for $597.49 million.
