Lionel Messi won another award that positions him as the best player in Spain for another year. The Argentinian legend was recognized by Marca for scoring the greatest number of goals in LaLiga season last campaign. During the season, he achieved to make 25 goals on the 33 matches played for FC Barcelona.

After that, he ended as the top-scorer of the season and gained the award for the seventh time in his career. The last four years he gained it in a row. The award was won previously by Cristiano Ronaldo in three occasions. On the seasons 2010/11, 2013/14 and 2014/15, the Portuguese was the one that finished with more goals.

All in all, the award was won seven times by Messi and just three by Cristiano, who can’t win it any longer as he left to Juventus and plays the Serie A now. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the historic no. 10 couldn’t receive his award until the last Monday on December, in which he was prized.

Messi is still defining what he will be doing on his future, as he tried to leave the club for the first time in the last 20 years during the past summer. Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are the two sides more interested on signing him, and also some only ones in the world that have the economical capacity to do so.
