Lionel Messi approaches Manchester City with a mega contract

Barcelona is going through a huge crisis. This means that at the end of the year they will have to sell if they want to improve the team or at least renew Messi’s contract. The new president will have to negotiate a lot and make some difficult decision about the future of the club.

Manchester City is the club that most likely would land Lionel Messi if FC Barcelona cannot retain him. When Luis Suárez left, the Argentinian claimed that he wanted to leave but that never happened. Now that Barcelona is on a huge debt, maybe he has another reason to leave.

The idea of Manchester City is to offer Messi an earlier contract for him to sign so that when he finishes up the season at Barcelona and his actual contract expired, he joined Pep Guardiola’s club. This would mean an outrageous amount of money for the player that FC Barcelona would not cover, or that is what Man City thinks.

If Ronald Koeman gets the chance to make a reorganization of the club once Messi is gone, maybe it is the best. The money would be used to sign some young players and start a process that would put FC Barcelona on a main spot again. Although, the fans are terrified about this idea.
