Gonzalo Higuaín arrived last season in MLS and quickly showed all his quality, as he scored several important goals at Inter Miami that allowed him to qualify for Play-In in his first tournament in history. And in the last hours, the Argentine forward didn't hide his wishes that Lionel Messi join his team and they can perform the attack duo again as they did for several years in the Argentine National Team.

Lionel Messi's contract renewal with Barcelona remains unsolved. Not even the assumption of Joan Laporta caused La Pulga to sign the new link. And in this context of uncertainty, Pipita imagines him playing in the American tournament in the short term, imitating what Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Blaise Matuidi, Andrea Pirlo, David Villa and Thierry Henry had previously done.

“I don't see any reason why Lionel (Messi) can't come here. If he makes him happy, we would welcome him with open arms. At some point, he will decide where he wants to play and what is best for him on a personal and sporting level. But I do not see anything strange that he can come to play MLS or even Inter Miami", Higuaín told ESPN television.

Although, despite wanting to see him in MLS, Higuaín recognized that he still has a lot of potential to continue competing in the European elite. "In my opinion, he has the caliber to continue competing for the Champions League".
