After the end of the period 2011-2020, specialists from the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) have picked who they consider the best soccer player in that time. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were the greatest candidates, and the winner was not a surprise.

After a hard decision, Messi was picked as the best player in the decade according to the IFFHS. During that time, the Argentinian idol won 22 titles, as 6 La Liga, and two Champions League titles. 150 specialists from the Federation were in charge of the election in which Messi was chosen.

The historical no. 10 from FC Barcelona has made a prolific professional career so far and, at his 33 years old, he is one of the greatest players ever. Specialists confirm that he is even at the level of Pelé of Diego Maradona, and think that nowadays there is no one like him.

 

Cristiano Ronaldo, winner of four Champions League trophies in the decade, ended in the second position. The podium was completed with Andrés Iniesta and after him, we can find Neymar, Sergio Ramos, Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, Gianluigi Buffon, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Luka Modric.
