Liga MX has counted during the last year on some very talented and skilled players that helped the league having an important growth. Some top international figures even arrive to play at Mexico, while the main other Latin America competitions couldn’t really improve their level.

When talking about Liga MX, it is necessary to consider that players arrive there as millionaire contracts are paid. At the continent, just the MLS may offer better earnings, but doubtfully the same level and passion for the game. The list of the five richest players in Liga MX start with Giovani Dos Santos.

The left-footed attacker was formed at Monterrey but left rapidly to Europe, where he played for teams such as FC Barcelona, Tottenham or Villarreal. On July 2019 he returned to Liga MX and signed with Club America a contract for $3 million per year. The other player earning a similar amount of money (3.5 million per season), that also plays for America is the Chilean striker Nicolás Castillo.

Number three on the list an Argentine striker who arrived from Benfica on July 2015 and plays for Monterrey, club in which he scored 115 goals since his arrival: Rogelio Funes Mori. The second one on the list is legendary goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, receiving $4.5 million from America as well, and the number one is André-Pierre Gignac, the French striker from Tigres UANL who receives $4.6 million yearly.
