The rumor about LeBron James' alleged purchase of a minority package of Málaga CF shares has set the networks on fire in the last hours. It all started when it was revealed that a few days ago an investment group from the United States, RedBird Capital Partners, had acquired 600 shares of the Spanish football club, information provided by Ser Málaga.

This group has investments in other sports such as the NFL or the American Football League, and maintains some ties with Fenway Sports Group, a company of which LeBron James is a co-owner, which had signed an alliance with it for other sports businesses in the United States, but that in no case now include Malaga, as reported by SportDirect.

Co-owners of the Boston Red Fox, Liverpool or Toulouse

LeBron James and his longtime business partner, Maverick Carter, have partnered as co-owners of the Fenway Sports Group, and through them have made various investments in the world of sports. For example, in the NFL, in the national baseball league (they are co-owners of the Boston Red Sox) or in football, taking a stake from Liverpool and another from Toulouse, from the French second division, among others.

The alleged connection of LeBron James with Málaga quickly unleashed speculations in the capital of the Costa del Sol, where it was speculated that the Lakers star could even in the future increase his power in the football club in a hypothetical future capital increase that would allow that group to seize power from the current largest shareholder, Sheikh Al Thani.
