It’s no lie to say that Hirving “Chucky” Lozano is one of the best wingers in Europe, something he has showed since arriving in PSV Eindhoven back in 2017, where it only took him two years to establish as one of the most important players on Eredivisie.

After that, Carlo Ancelotti, who was coaching SSC Napoli at the time, personally requested his addition to the Azzurri, where he’s played ever since. And even if he’s had his ups and downs given the rotation of coaches Napoli has had on the three seasons he’s been there, he has finally established on a starting role.

Lozano has said that he’s comfortable in Napoli, although if an offer arrives from a better club he won’t let the opportunity pass, especially if it meant to arrive to one of the biggest teams in the world, like FC Barcelona.

Rumors recently placed him in the radar of the Blaugranas, as Xavi could use a winger like him to replace Ousmane Dembélé. But now, reports suggest that Barcelona has started pursuing the addition of Kylian Mbappé, who becomes a free agent at the end of the season.

What other options does Lozano has?

If the arrival of Mbappé becomes a reality for the Blaugranas, Lozano won’t be able to join Barcelona, even if Xavi Hernández has praised him in the past, when Barça faced Napoli in the UEFA Europa League playoffs.

Luckily for Lozano, Barcelona is not the only party interested in his services, as Carlo Ancelotti, who currently coaches Real Madrid, could potentially seek a reunion with the Mexican winger, since Gaeth Bale’s future is still uncertain.

And if Real Madrid is not the destination of “Chucky”, their neighbors of Wanda Metropolitano are also interested in adding Lozano for the 2022-23 season, as Diego “Cholo” Simeone has showed his interest in having the Mexico international in Atlético Madrid.

Lozano’s numbers with Napoli

“Chucky” Lozano arrived in Napoli for the 2019-20 season after winning the Eredivisie in 2018. Since then, Lozano has been part of the Azzurri for three seasons so far, in which he’s played 107 games, scoring 25 goals and assisting 10 times.
