All the lights were on Lionel Messi as the preferred prey of Paris Saint-Germain in the event of the departure of Kylian Mbappé, but the newspaper Le Parisien reveals this Friday that the French club also has its sights set on the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo. The elimination of Juventus from Turin in the last 16 of the Champions League last Tuesday, the third in a row since the Portuguese arrival, has placed the former Real Madrid player in the club's crosshairs.

According to the newspaper, PSG immediately opened the door to the arrival of the Portuguese star in case of various conditions. At 36, Ronaldo remains a great asset, although now he is the target of criticism in Italy. PSG is working on the renewal of Mbappé's contract, which ends in June 2022, but the young attacker, one of the most sought-after in the current market, is holding off the management and does not seem to be in a hurry to renew.

The French club knows that, if it does not prolong its commitment to the 22-year-old player, selling him this summer is the last option to obtain money for a footballer for whom it paid 180 million euros to Monaco in 2017. In case it finally is produce that exit, PSG had made it a priority to take over Messi, whose contract expires at the end of the season and who would arrive free. The six-time winner of the Ballon d'Or is the player who insistently claims Neymar, whose contract with PSG, which also expires in June 2022, is about to be renewed.

But if the Argentine decides to stay with his lifelong club or opt for another team, such as Manchester City, which also seems to want to sign him, Cristiano Ronaldo would be the right man, according to Le Parisien. The Portuguese has another season left with Juve, but criticism may allow him to go free, so as not to have to pay his salary of 31 million net per season.

In Piedmont, the Portuguese has scored 92 goals in 121 games, but that has not kept him safe from criticism for his three eliminations in the second round of the Champions League against theoretically inferior rivals: Ajax Amsterdam, Lyon and Porto. To this is added that, despite his 27 goals in 32 games this season, his team has a difficult time revalidating the league championship.
