Time flies really fast. It's been more than a year since Lionel Messi departed ways with Barcelona, changing modern football forever. And of course, the Spanish team is to blame for this crazy decision. But they suffered letting go of the best player in their history.

In their first season without the best Argentinian footballer ever, they were eliminated in the Champions League group stage (something inconceivable when "The Messia" was wearing the Catalan jersey). Moreover, they were eliminated from the Europa League at home with a surprise invasion from the visiting crowd, with over 20,000 Frankfurt fans at the Camp Nou.

While Barça betrayed Messi, what La Liga does to indicate that he is still the best

As if that wasn't enough, Real Madrid only missed winning Copa del Rey. Without Messi, "Los Merengues" had the chance to take from Barcelona the title of the best team in Spain. They even won the Champions League beating multiple teams, even Paris Saint Germain, Messi's new home.

A new season, a new hope

Since the horrifying last season, Barcelona's president Joan Laporta has pulled enough strings to get money to Camp Nou for player investment. And since then, they acquired the services of different football stars, such as Bayern Munich star, Robert Lewandowski and Chelsea's left back, Marcos Alonso. Will these transfers be enough for Barcelona to return to its glory? Only time will tell.
